Lets try an Albarino as local weather hots up.!

Jenise posted a great Albarino thread last May. I have a few in the cellar so I pulled this one to go with chicken pot pie.

2020 Lagar de Cervera Albarino Rias Baixas.

Color is a lightish lemon. Aromatics included white flowers, spice, tart citrus, apple and pear. As usual did not served too chilled, always an advantage with this grape. Good acidity, nice fruit balance, spice, sour apple and minerals. One taster thought "a slight saline note"."I think partial malo, not too shrill on the finish" another thought. Very enjoyable.
I see I paid $36 Cdn..way too high in my opinion. No longer available.

Bob, that sounds great. Have to confess, I don't have a single albarino in the cellar right now. I like them, but don't see the more interesting ones often enough to buy them.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

None here either, but “Go-to Wines When it’s Too Damn Hot” sounds like a theme!

I have an Enfield Albariño from, I think, this past spring’s release. Had the first one earlier this summer and enjoyed it a lot, though I didn’t take notes. I should make sure it’s at service temp as we head into August… although it’s been hot here since June!
cheers, Patchen

A BC winery, Terravista Vineyards, does an excellent job with Albariño - have seven different ones including a sparkling wine. They also make Verdejo. I believe that both are Washington state grown.

Just checked..one Terravista here in town. Went to seek today..one store carries but sold out. They also stock the sparkling Albarino.

I just phoned the store to see if they were restocking the Albarino soon. They told me they would if I only buy the whole case. What do you all make of that?

Managed to make it downtown today. Some new wines from Portugal and Spain. Picked up an albarino from Veiga da Princesa Rias Baixas...$26 Cda.

Chicken pot pie tonite. Ready with a 2021 Quinta de Pacos Alvarino Vino Verde. Moncao. Not sure it came from my regular supplier?

Not a widely known winery and an obscure (relatively) varietal so they likely want to be sure that it doesn't sit there. Why don't you tantalize them and ask if they'd bring a case in if you bought half of it? That's worked for me in the past.
