1997 Château de Saint Cosme Gigondas - my records show that I last opened a bottle of this in 2023 and at that time found it to be very good and now showing a lighter colour with clear edges and a very nice nose of rich earth and dark berries. Smooth and medium long on palate with a clean acidic finish. The nose became more complex over a half hour adding notes of thyme and earth. I don't see much more upside from here but it should hold a few more years. Excellent for current drinking.

I also have some 1998 regular and some 1998 Valbelle, a single vineyard version (90/10 grenache/syrah). Might be fun to taste the three together!
