WTN: Prop Betz

  • 2016 Betz Family Cabernet Sauvignon Heart of the Hill - USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain (8/13/2025)
Glad I waited six years from my first bottle, as this has opened up and slimmed down. Still dark fruit driven, but the structure is no longer buried, and it feels like it’s in balance. Still very young, so I am in no hurry to open another, but the evolution so far gives me a lot of encouragement to allow significant aging of this wine.

Ok you like Betz, Jenise likes Betz. I should give them another try. I only remember one, a Syrah that was hot as hell (said 14.x%, tasted more like 15+ %). But one taste shouldn't guide me for a lifetime.

If we ever find a time to get together again I can bring a bottle or two.
