2008 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Anrecht

I drank several bottles of this right on release as it was just that terrific, so full of cut and vibrancy and genuinely electric energy then. This is the first time I'm revisiting this wine in several years, and it's all grown up now. The fruit is deeper-toned, tinged with smoky and lightly creamy flavours, but the core of vibrant Mosel fruit and florality and the intense mineral base are still there. Still so easy to drink, and aging beautifully under its screwcap closure. Hell yeah.

Yup. Was some bottled under cork as well? all the ones I bought on release were under screwcap. A friend brought this one (which he bought back then based on my breathless praise), but also under screwcap.

0% romance. 100% awesomeness. ;)

Thanks, if CT correct I have one of these (somewhere). Assuming there is only one Anrecht (I have listed as Spatlese)

Yes, it was a Spätlese in 2008. Normally it’s an Auslese.
