Had these two Piemontese wines over the last few days:
1. La Colombera Cortese Bricco Bartolomeo Dd'OC: Colli Tortonesi (13.0%; GiulianaImprts/Boulder) LaColombera f.illi Semino/Tortona/Piedmont 2024: Light gld color; lightly fragrant rather stony/bit earthy slight floral/dendelions classic clunky/Cortese nose; bit soft some rich/lush slight floral/dandelions/Cortese someearthy/stony bit metallic slight pineapple/lemony fairly classic clunky/Cortese flavor; long stony/slight floral finish that tracks flavor; a fairly classic Piemontese Cortese that's mostly stony & lacks much aromatics/high-toned fruit, but a quite pleasant expression of Cortese; a bit more aromatics than Cortese from central Piedmonte. $20.00 (KK)

2. Castello di Castellengo Rosso della Motta Vino Rosso (13%; www.CentoVigne.It; 80% Nebbiolo/20% Vespolina; 70-80 yr old vines; TheSource/Moorpark/CA) Centovige/Castello di Castellengo/Cossato/Piemonte 2021: Med.dark color; fairly fruity/grapey/cherry/Nebb bit coarse/Italiante slight earthy/dusty/OV some floral/lilacs classic Alto Piedmonte Nebb nose; lightly tart strong floral/lilacs/Nebb rather grapey/plummy fairly earthy/dusty/OV bit complex flavor w/ light chewey tannins; very long strong floral/Nebb AltoPiedmonte finish that tracks flavor; quite an attractive expression of Nebb; needs several yrs yet; very good price at $28.00 (PrimaIlC)

More gizzrdsplat from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I really like the LaColombera Timorasso. Though a pleasant expression of Cortese, it's simply not in the league of the Timo.
I really liked the Castellengo Nebb. The Vespolina lends a richness to the wine w/o obliterating the delicate Nebb character. Quite a good expression of Alto Piedmonte Nebb.
