WTN: My first NA wine

NV Fre Red Blend
Brought over by a friend who is avoiding alcohol due to medication. It doesn't taste exactly like wine at all, but it's drier and more wine-ish than I expected while not being representative of any grape in particular.

Not sure why, but it made me immediately think of Right Said Fred.

But it wasn't sexy.

Sounds about right. I tried a couple of NA wines last year and neither was worth drinking, so I gave up. Now on my dry nights I drink NA beer (which can be excellent), sparkling water, or herbal tea.
cheers, Patchen

I actually had an NA beer at a local brewery and didn't even realize that it was alcohol-free. It was a German import. The brewmaster said that it's very difficult to make a good NA beer and he can't hope to make one as good as the German one, so he doesn't try. From the menu we mistook it for a house specialty of an entirely different sort. So I understand--they can be quite good! But for NA? I'm totally okay with plain ice water (which even if I were drinking wine I'd drink anyway) or sparkling (I really like the new Perrier flavored waters in cans, especially the grapefruit.)

This 'wine' makes it pretty obvious that fake wine won't tempt me.
