1. Siduri Chard SonomaCnty (14.1%) V&B by SiduriWines/SantaRosa 2023: Light gold/med.yellow color; rather pleasant straightforward Chard/melony/bi lemony slight spicy light pencilly/Fr.oak bit quiet/simple nose; lightly tart quiet melony/Chard slight pencilly/oak pleasant enough pushing vapid/bland flavor; med.light melony/Chard finish that mimics flavor; a pleasant enough Chard pushing the boundaries of vapid/bland; would like more richness/lushness & extract...just more ooomph. $26.00 (AV)

Josef Fischer GrunerVeltliner Federspiel DAC: Wachau (12.5%; NeilRosenthalImprts; Q) JosefFischer/Wachau 2023: Med.gold color; strong white pepper/GV/carnations/lightly floral bit earthy/stony/steely spicy rather saline/mineral very attractive nose; very tart/tangy/metallic totally dry quite mineral/saline bit metallic somewhat structured/steely/mineral/austere bit complex flavor; very long/lingering rather saline/savory finish; lots of terroir-driven savory character but not the effusive floral chracter of most Wachau GV; arather austere expression of GV & needs food with it; quite structured & should improve a lot over the next 3-7 yrs. $26.00 (AV)

Guido Porro Dd'OC: Barbera d'Alba H.S.Caterina (14.5%; KermitLynch/Berkeley) Guido Porro/Serralunga d'Alba 2023: Med.dark color; strong Barbera/spicy/dried Italian herbs/Italian sausage light dusty/OV some complex very attractive nose; fairly tart bit alcoholic strong Barbera/spicy/Italian sausage fairly rich/angular flavor w/ modest hard/bitey tannins; very long finish that tracks flavor; a pretty classic Alba Barbera that will benefit from several yrs of age; not as spicy/perfumed as a Barbera'Asti; very fairly priced at $28.00 (KK)

1. I, of course, followed Adam Lee at Siduri from the very start. He used to send out a monthly offering of a wine significantly discounted and my group would buy quite a lot. They were real bargains
Adam sold to Jackson Family Wines a number of yrs ago. The monthly offering came to an end. I pretty much lost interest at that point. I spied on the shelf here in NM a week ago this Chard and thought I should revisit Siduri. It was not a bad wine, varietally correct, but just not at all very interesting. A bit on the boring side.
