This is a port that Patty & Andy brought to share w/ our apps/wines Sat afternoon:
1. Stone CottageCllrs IlDiavolo Dessert Wine (20% U/U/Unrepentant; LateHrvst Baco Noir; www.StoneCottageCellars.com) Paonia/CO NV: Black color; very intense grapey/Porto-like/overripe very intense boysenberry/Baco bit earthy/hybridy rather alcoholic quite authentic/Perto/interesting nose; soft rather alcholic strong boysenberry/very ripe/some BN bit eathy/dusty rather porty quite sweet complex flavor w/ ample ripe tannins; very long/lingering alcoholic/Perto/grapey finish that tracks flavor; a very replication of a good Porto w/ little of the earthy/coarse/hybridy character of BN; one of the better BN's I recall having. $24.00/hlf

1. Stone Cottage is a West Slope wnry started in 1994 by Brent & Karen Hellecksion. They produce a full range of the standard varietal wines. This Port impressed me enough that I should like to try their other wines.

Wow, didn't expect grapey, quite alcoholic and overripe to add up to one of the better anything's you've ever had!

But that is the flavor profile of young Porto.
