WTN: Dirty Laundry

  • 2015 Dirty and Rowdy Mourvèdre Old Vine Rosewood Vineyards - USA, California, North Coast, Redwood Valley (12/13/2025)
Writing this note while I finish the last glass, about three hours after I opened it to share with friends. The deep cherry fruit is tinged with an oyster sauce umami character and this dried seaweed salinity that hangs on the finish as long as an arctic night. Not a lot of tannic structure, but plenty of acid to keep things flowing in the right direction. It’s Mourvèdre that has been charged with loose electrons. Brilliant and energizing. I have one more but wish I had ten.

Saw this and at first wondered if you were straying far afield - Dirty Laundry is the name of a B.C. winery!

It’s also a Don Henley song.
