WTN: Two for DinDin...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Mon Dec 15, 2025 1:23 pm

Had these two new wines for DinDin last night:
1. Garagisti Anonimi Di Lassasi Come Friuliano Dd'OC: Friuli (13.5%; Benvenusa/Sasalito) Tommaso Zanutini/Manzano 2023: Light gold color; very attractive floral/Friuliano/gardenias/bit musky some orange blossom/citrus slight mineral very aromatic/perfumed lovely nose; fairly tart/tangymetallic very floral/fruity/gardenias some orange blossom/citrusy fairly rich/lush slight mineral/metallic lovely flavor; very long/lingering floral/Friulano finish that mimics flavor; quite a beautiful example of Friulano w/ lovely aromatics; one of the best Friulanos that I can recall; loads of Friulanofruit w/ a slight minerality to make it interesting; a bit on pricey side for Friulano but worth the price. $32.00 KK)

2. Brousko 100% Vertzami Siflogo/Lefkada Island/Greece (13.2%; eklektikon/Wilmington/DE; www.Siflago-Lefkada.Gr) M.Papanikolopoulou/Lefkada/Gr 2022: Very dark red/near black color; strong plummy/Mourv-like/grapey rather hot-climat/jammy/overripe quite juicy rather earthy/rustic/jammy simple nose; soft very ripe/jammy/rustic very grapey/licorice/plummy/bit Mourv-like quite earthy/loamy bit off-dry (0.1%) flavor w/ light soft tannins; med.long very soft/overripe/loamy finish that tracks flavor; a rather soft/jammy/grapey/overripe/plummy red that has little to interest the palate. $32.00 (AV)

More niklebert from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Vertzami is a rather rare grape native to the island of Lefkada on the Western coast of Greece. Also found on the island of Cyprus. Supposedly a rising star in the Greek varieties. Got a long ways to rise to get my attention.

Maybe other producers are doing better work with Vertzami.

Awwww, David....you forget I'm a LosAlamos Guy. We can make the most extravagant extrapolations based on
just one data point. Sometimes even on zero data points!!
