WTN: Badstube Case of Loving You

  • 2011 Joh. Jos. Prüm Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Auslese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (12/19/2025)
I have no idea where the bottle came from. It wasn’t in my inventory or purchase records. Perhaps a gift several years ago that never got entered is a best guess. Happy only bottle! Still a very pale yellow color, and youthful in profile, with just a hint of honey around the edges to complement peach and light strawberry fruit. Moderately sweet (it was out-sugared by a 2012 Haart Ohligsberg Spätlese on the same table), it finished just barely off dry, despite the low acid history of the 2011 vintage. First bottle finished by the group, despite my Prüm-fanatic wife being focused on the Haart.

Not a bad surprise to find. I'm sure there have been worse discoveries!
