Had this wine last night w/ my braised pork belly:
1. Ch.Feuillet Torrette Superieur Dd'OP: Valle d'Aosta (13.5%; PetiteRouge; Dried in crates for 3 days; Kermit Lynch/Berkeley) Maurizio Fiorano 2014: Med.dark color w/ some bricking; strong grapey/licorice/PetiteRouge some earthy/dusty/OV bit PD-like light pencilly/oak slight volatile somewhat complex nose; lightly tart strong grapey/licorice/pungent some earthy/PR slight alpine flowers/violets some dusty/OV light pencilly/oak bit rugged/rustic some complex flavor w/ light rough tannins; long rather grapey/rugged finish that tracks flavor; a bit of a rugged mountain red w/ some nice alpine aromatics; probably not going to get a whole lot better & will bid a rugged adieu over the next few yrs.

More giffersplat from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I very much like the wines of the Valle d'Aosta. The PetiteRouge grape native to the Vd'A resembles PetiteSirah a lot w/ more perfumed aromatics. This is one of the good examples. The Vd'A makes a lot of good wines but are not widely appreciated.
