Tried this Timo at our Pig+Fig tasting Tues of Italian-style wines:
1. Idlewild Timorasso WW North Coast (11.5%) 2020: Light gold color; lovely fragrant Timo/floral/gardenias rather Viog-like light mineral/perfumed talc some complex nose w/ no signs of its age; bit tart fairly rich/lush very perfumed/Timo/gardenias pear/peach/some Viog like lightly mineral/perfumed talc fairly complex flavor; very long/lingering rather floral/complex finish that mocks flavor; shows little signs of it age; quite a lovely expression of Timo. $42.00

More timoskirtle from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. This is the first Timo produced in Calif. The plant material was sourced to FPS by Brian Harrington several yrs ago. Not sure what producer he sourced the plant material from.
I take full credit for this Timo. A number of yrs ago, I met Sam at BergamotAlley tasting bar in Healdsburg. I noticed they had a btl of Walter Massa (the guy who saved Timo from extinction) Timo on the shelf. Sam had not had a Timo before. I happened to have two other btls of Timo in my rental car (doesn’t everyone travel w/ a few btls of Timo in their car??) & asked Sam if he’d like to do a small tasting of Timo afore we tasted his new releases. He was quite impressed by the variety. So he was first in line when FPS finally released the Timo from quarantine.
This wine seems to have put on a bit of weight since I first tasted it in April '24. But it shows no signs of its age and will probably improve some over the next few yrs. Hard to guess. It reminds me some of the basic ColomberaTimo but not quite the same minerrality.
