  • 2015 Castell'in Villa Chianti Classico - Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG (1/30/2026)
Pretty is not a word I use often with Sangiovese, but this was a very pretty bottle of wine. All the typical Chianti aromatic and flavor notes apply, but what struck me was the elegant texture. It still had grip, but was never drying. Chianti is 100% a food wine for me, but this was just as engaging on its own after dinner.

Thanks for the note! That Chianti is one of my favourites - have a half case of that vintage sitting there - I've found the to be quite long aging. Their Santacroce IGT is also very dependable.

I’m all out, but thankfully have some coming when the weather warms up a bit.
