Rest in Peace Pierre Trimbach

by David M. Bueker » Mon Feb 02, 2026 4:13 pm

Pierre Trimbach apparently died in a car accident yesterday.

He made so many wines that touched my heart and the hearts of dear friends both here and gone.

He will be greatly missed.

Oh no! Very sad news.

Opened a bottle of 2001 CFE Vendange Tardive tonight. The bottle came from Thor’s collection. A bottle from a passed friend to commemorate the passed winemaker.

I’m really sad right now.

That's a big loss for Trimbach, Alsace and the wine world in general. I did a couple of tastings there but never met Pierre. He helped make it the best producer in Alsace.
