Les Vignerons d'Estezargues Kiffe SauvBlanc VdF (12%; VinotasSlctns/NY/NY) Luc Lapeyre 2024: Light gold color; rather attractive floral/melony/SauvBlanc/citrusy/grapefruity/lemony light herbal/chalky quite fragrant nose; bit soft off-dry chalky/mineral SauvBlanc/grapefruity slight melony/floral mineral/grapefruity slight melony/floral quite a pretty flavor; med.long minerally/floral/melony finish that mocks flavor; quite a pretty/fruity SB but lacks the herbal/minerality of a really good SB; a rather pretty SB but just that. $21.00 (SFW&S)

Dom.Cabirau Second Effort Dd'OP: Maury Sec/Roussillon (14.5%; 62% Grenache/38% Syrah; HandpickedSlctns/Warrenton/VA) LesVignerons de Tautavel Vingnau/DanKravitz/Tautavel 2021: Fairly dark/near black color; very strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy/peppery slight strawberry/Grenache quite perfumed/fragrant/loads of fruit slight rustic nose; soft slight tannic/rustic/metallic loads of ripe fruit blackberry/Syrah/peppery strawberry/Grenache some rustic/bit rough flavor w/ light brisk tannins; very long loads of Rhonish fruit finish that follows flavor; shows a bit of the rustic Roussillon but loads of ripe fruit; quite a nice Rhone red w/ lots of fruit at a very good price; delicious now but will still benefit from a few more yrs of age. $30.00 (SFW&S)

1. I was very taken by the Roussillon red. Apparently the property is owned by Dan Kravitz importer; whose wines I generally like, & is involved in its production. Quite a nice Rhone red.
