WTN: Adamswein

2022 Adamswein Ingelheim Spätburgunder

Tart crisp and backwards. Benefits from a decant to gain flesh and body, although it is an entry-level wine that is not particularly deep. Still, it eventually shows nice elegant fruit with whole cluster spice notes and a crisp delicate side of Spätburgunder that reminds me more of Pernand Vergelesses than Rheinhessen. Curious to taste the higher-end bottlings.

Imported by Bowler https://www.bowlerwine.com/producer/adamswein. There is some availability here in the US/Northeast/New England, but I haven't seen the high-end wines on shelves. Biodynamic, female winemaker, pitched as a spiritual lineage to Chandon de Briailles and some of that came through in this one lowly basic bottle.

I may try to visit when in Germany next month to see more and hopefully try the higher-end wines. But she does mainly specialize in Spätburgunder, with some weiss/grau and chardonnay, don't think she has riesling.
