WTN: Extradimensional, Extradimensional, Read All About It!

  • 2021 Extradimensional Wine Co. Yeah! Syrah Brosseau Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Chalone (4/2/2026)
When I pulled the cork on this wine it immediately perfumed the room. Flowers, dark red fruit, rare meat, a touch of earthiness - it was intoxicating just to smell. An hour in the decanted, and it was even more explosively aromatic, and just as vibrant on the palate. A swirling vortex of the essence of Syrah, I kept going back to smell it, trying to wrap my head around how it could be so intense and penetrating. Truly a magical bottle of wine, and the best smelling wine I have had in years. Barely need to drink it!

Sounds fantastic, David. BTW, you probably got the email from Hardy about the charity dinner at the Shulgin farm in CA later this month. Sasha Shulgin is a known quantity for me as I've seen many of his papers over the years and wondered "WTF?" That is, until I arrived at Purdue and met this guy who became a close friend and colleague and explained all about his friend Sasha.

So, needless to say, I'll be there at the dinner with my winemaking cousin. Notes to follow.
