  • 2014 Arnot-Roberts Chardonnay Trout Gulch Vineyard - USA, California, Santa Cruz Mountains (4/28/2026)
From my late father’s cellar, this is still remarkably fresh and bright. High-toned citrus fruit, and a salty tinge from the acidity, it’s a darn fine Chablis stand in.

If you don't mind my saying, Arnot-Roberts seems a tad outside your dad's normal tastes. I guess both Flora Springs and Arnot-Roberts are both from CA, but that's about as much commonality as I see.

He loved their Rosé. Bought a few other things that he barely ever touched. He bought a lot of Ceritas as well, most of which is now at my house.

Have never had an A-R white, though I'm a fan of the reds. This chardonnay sounds pretty compelling.

I just recently tried a bottle of the '24 Ceritas Heintz Chardonnay. Very, very nice wine, even though I'm not much of a CalChard drinker.

I think you would like their whites. Low oak influence, bright acidity, etc.

I also love their Trousseau. It’s such a versatile red.
