Tuesday grilled pork chops in a jalapeno/cilantro marinade, elote, squash, and a salad
2024 Chermette Griottes Beaujolais
Cherry bomb, in a good way. Juicy red and black cherry with herbs, hint of campfire smoke. Not super complex but fresh and alluring. B+

Wednesday sausage and ramp risotto with salad
2017 Castello di Gabbiano Cavaliere d'Oro Bellezza Chianti Classico Gran Selezione
Ripe and plush, this is a bit fatter than my Chianti ideal. Some oak, and a bit drying on finish. B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was the only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

I loved that Gabbiano when I first discovered it years ago, bought it again twice over the following year, and there was a lot of bottle variation.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

The generally accepted view on Beaujolais is that is a very early drinking wine but a cru Bojo can go on for years. I'll have to pullsome older bottles now that you have reminded me. Ditto for the Chiantis - must start in on them. Only have one (emptry) fiasco bottle though - stuck a candle in it for when the power goes out.

I think it depends who you ask. Don't forget my recent tasting with Dale where our companion pulled out the first magnum from his case of 05 Diochon.
