WTN: Marching through a few Loire chenin vintages

2024 Huet Clos du Bourg Vouvray Sec
Delicious. These are the vintages for me to buy. Ripe and full flavored but also crisp linear and mineral. Enjoy them when they come around.

2023 Domaine aux Moines Savennières Roche aux Moines
Clearly in the Anjou schist with the waxy orchard hay, but elegant and bright. Full bodied and powerful but good cut as well. I would like to see the 2024 of this.

2022 Château Pierre Bise Savennières Roche aux Moines
Super ripe golden raisin flavors, thick chewy and long texture. It is very polished and might please some people, but is way too dense and hot (14.5%) for me. It is more enjoyable to drink on the second day when the texture is less dense/more lively and the flavors are more recognizably chenin with the attractive white flowers and hay. I enjoyed those day 2 glasses, but probably still not where I want to invest my money/time/liver/brain cells.

I don't think that modern hyper-warm vintages like 2020 and 2022 show dry Loire chenin at its best. Better for the reds, I think.

Ok, time to look for 24 Huet.
