WTN: Heart of Glass

OK, I finally tried Heart & Hummingbird II. I served it cool and then let it warm up a bit. The texture is interesting. It’s not glyceral like a White Rhône, but there’s a degree of weight on the palate that I enjoy. Fruit aromatics run to red cherry and watermelon, with a citrus kick. What I find most enjoyable is a dark spice note on the palate that echoes cinnamon. I feel like I am in the wrong place to drink this wine. I should be by the ocean, as I think the salt air would resonate. Good stuff. It’s not life changing for me, but I would never turn down a glass.

I liked the 23 a lot, so different, but not something I'd want regularly I think.

As you may recall from my "trip" report, Hardy was serving it at the welcome table. I agree that it's light, fun and made for warm weather.

Yep. I read your note, and of course Hardy’s Fass-esque notes. I guess I am just not the target audience for the stuff.

Ditto. It's nothing I'd go out of my way for, but I wouldn't turn up my nose if I were offered a glass of it, either.
