Tried these two Pinots over the last few day:
1. DryCreekVnyds PinotNoir RRV/SonomaCnty (12.5%; Hrvstd Sept 17 & 27; 10 mo. in Fr.oak; Vine age: 23 yrs; SaH: 22.8 Brix, TA: 0.61%; Clone 777/Pommard; 560 cs) Healdsburg 2024: Very dark color; strong PN/black cherry /spicy light toasty/oak/pencilly light earthy/dusty OV bit complex nose; lightly tart some pencilly/toasty/Fr.oak strong black cherry/PN light earthy/dusty/OV pleasant flavor w/ light brisk tannins; speaks of the DCVnyds balanced syle; quite a pleasant RRV PN but not particularly distinctive. $48.00/$38.40 (VSP)

Franco Serra PinotNoir Dd'OC: Piemonte (13.5%; MarchettiImprts/ClevelandHeight/OH) FrancoSerra/Mombaruzzo 2024: Med.dark color; pleasant PN/cherry rather earthy/dusty/OV fairly pencilly/Fr.oak somewhat rustic fairly classic PN nose; bit soft some earthy/rustic flavor w/ modest tannic bite; med. earthy/rustic/coarse finish that mocks flavor; pleasant if a bit rustic PN. $14.50 (KK)

1. You don't often see PN from the Piemonte, so I wanted to try it...especially at this price. Struggle as I could, I didn't find anything that suggested Piemonte in this wine. Maybe terroir doesn't apply to PN?? It was a pleasant enough PN at a very fair price, but just that.
