  • 2017 Bedrock Wine Co. Lorenzo's Heritage - USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley (6/11/2026)
    This was on fire tonight. All that Dry Creek depth, beautiful expression of Zin-focused fruit, soft tannins, and a spicy note on the finish that brought it all home. Hard to put down the glass.

Back in the 1990s I used to visit friends in San Jose to go to the IndyCar race at Laguna Seca. I would take a day trip to Sonoma County and visit several of the wineries there. One of them (can't recall the name) had a pasture next to the tasting room in which they kept a pair of llamas. One was named Dalai and the other was named Como Se.

Brian Loring was/is kind of obsessed with llamas. He actually did a couple of Pinots with llama names and llama photos on the label.

Dale - I think you might find Bedrock a touch rich for your tastes. It’s not overripe but it’s north of Geyserville. Maybe Joel Peterson’s Once & Future might be more your jam.

I am happy to bring some for you to try first.
