2016 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Rouge Pinot Noir
Popped and poured one of these on Friday night. Drank well immediately with youthful raspberry-plum fruit, though on the hefty side. So good I had a second glass though it was starting to shut down, and put the remainders in the fridge. 48 hours later I poured another. Though cold, it had a weird initial nose I could smell from two feet away. Ripe, with a plastic-y note similar to alicante bouschet (a grape I dislike). That did blow off somewhat as it warmed up, but it never fully got back to, or improve from, what I enjoyed on Friday. Odd.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Very strange indeed.
Somehow even though they are readily available to my memory I have never tried a Taupenot-Merme.

I first encountered them when someone in Van put on a tasting of every young Bourgogne available from the LCB. The Taupenot- Merme, a producer I had not even heard of, was a level or so above the rest for my tastes and suddenly her wines were everywhere here on the left coast. I picked these up from First Bottle not long after. Loved the first bottle I opened shortly after receiving, then totally forgot I owned five more until last week when I did some cellar re-arranging. No idea what to expect from the remaining bottles but will give them more time before trying again.
