Yup: appellation Copenhagen. Specifically: a 2023 Njord Pinot Noir Précoce Issø that I read about on CT. Had no idea!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I can’t recall who, but someone is messing around with a hobby vineyard in Norway.

I guess there's an upside to global warming after all.

Wine from the south of England was well regarded in ancient Roman times. Not surprising since that same chalky soil produces fine wine wherever it crops up in continental Europe (Champagne, Burgundy's Cote d'Or, Cognac, Jerez de la Frontera).

Mark Ellenbogen, late of Slanted Door, Aziza and a farm in North Carolina (among other things) now lives in Norway and has planted a vineyard of Solaris grapes. It's been a couple of years since I've seen an update from him, but things were coming along quite well last I heard.

Due to increased greenhouse gas emissions, the last 11 years were the warmest on record. Average surface temperatures having risen about 2 degrees Fahrenheit since the late 19th century. That doesn't sound like much but it is. According to the World Meteorological Organization, the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 stand as the warmest three-year streak in climate tracking history. Maybe Trump is onto something - like sunshine resort property in Greenland?

Wine from the south of England is well regarded in current times. There are more than 1,000 vineyards and at least two Champagne houses have bought land here and planted Pinot & Chardonnay to make sparkling wines

I currently have only eight bottles in my cellar (including one from Pommery) but from CT I see I have consumed 65 in the past 20 years.

Most sparkling wine made here is by the Traditional Method, but recently some Charmat method wines have come on the market

I had expected it to be a small polytunnel operation, but no -[url] https://njordvingaard.dk/#Vineyards

Pinot Noir Précoce, also known as Fruhburgunder, is a clone that ripens about 2 weeks earlier. It's thus also quite common in British vineyards. I'm not sure wine made from it will satisfy fans of Burgundy
