WTN: Muriel's Wedding

Purchased years ago, don't remember when or why, but last night felt like the right kind of night to open a big red to enjoy a glass of out on the patio. Owned but never tasted it before and didn't even remember that it was from Alexander Valley, which for me is not a plus. Back in the Ginger vs. Mary Ann days of Silver Oak AV vs. Napa, I was soundly in the Napa camp. Anyway:

2019 Medlock Ames Cabernet Sauvignon The Wedding Tree Alexander Valley
From one of those super heavy 3 lb bottles, this has saturated blackberry fruit on the front end and sweet exotic cassis on the finish with black licorice, pumpernickel bread and that Alexander Valley rosemary thing in between. In prime drinking window for a youthful, full-bodied cabernet with more prospects on the horizon. Not my favorite style at all, and once again I added a teaspoon of ice water to firm up the finish, but next time I make hamburgers: this wine.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Should drink it at the (Kathy) Bates Motel!
