- 2001 Florian Weingart Bopparder Hamm Feuerlay Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mittelrhein (8/19/2026)
One of the 2001 Germans my dad bought on release, but that I had not gotten around to drinking yet. I feared for the worst as the cork slipped into the bottle as soon as I touched it. Turns out the wine was fine, if probably a touch advanced. Still good peachy fruit and a healthy dash of spice. Not at all dead despite the decrepitude of the cork.
