More glickleferk from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Adam Tolmach recently released this 6 pak of Summer drinking whites. At roughly $26/btl, these were quite a good value. We tasted these alongside the new release from TablasCreek. As expected, my preference were the Ojais. The R was my clear favorite, closely followed by the Vermentino.
This Viog was from the BrickBarn Vnyd which is a new one for Adam. His previous Viogs have come from the Roll Ranch. Because it's fairly warm there, the have been richer/lusher more Dolly Parton in character than this Brick Barn.
The Estate White is a blend of two hybrid varieties developed by Dr.Walker at FPS for their resistance to Pierce's Disease, a particularly big problem for Adam at his Estate vnyd there in Oakview and what killed his original Syrah/Zin there planted on their own roots. The Ambulo is mostly CabSauv plus Carignane & Chard, with some Vitis Arizonica and Vitis Rupestris. The Caminante is a cross mostly like the Ambulo, mostly vitis vinifera. These were developed back around 1983 & Adam has one of the few commercial plantings of these grapes in Calif.
