Tried these three new wines over the weekend:
1. IngridGroiss GrunerVeltliner DAC: Weinviertel (12.5%; www.Ingrid-Grois.At; VineyardBrands/Birmingham/AL) IngridGrois/Breitenwaide/AT 2025: Pale gold color; strong classic white pepper/GV/floral/gardenias slight metallic rather ripe/very ripe nose; lightly tart/tangy/metallic very ripe/GV bit white pepper/GV off-dry/Spatlese-level rather simple flavor; long simple GV/overripe finish; lots of intense very ripe GV character bit a bit too sweet for my palate; expect this winn be very good w/ 5-10 yrs of age. $21.00 (KK)

More passevigen from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. IngridGroiss is one of my most favorite Austrian producers. Usually, her wines are classic Austrian/delicious from the get-go on release. I was disappointed in this new release because of the high sweetness on the palate. Not a good wine to be drinking w/ meals. But I expect w/ some age as it starts to dry out, it will turn into a quite good IngridGroiss.
The RandallGraham pair was a set of pretty disappointing wines. For the price, I was expecting a lot more. Terroir?? None that I could find. Just utterly simple/grapey wines w/ little interest. Pretty dull/unthrilling wines from such a famous name. On his WebSite, he tries to associate these wines w/ the Languedoc. No connection that I could see. Wines just as dull as dishwater.
