2004 Giovanni Almondo Nebbiolo (Langhe)
A very nice entry level Nebbiolo price at $13. Surprisingly balanced with attractive floral/violets/asphalt aromatics on top of a reddish fruit profile. Some oak, but not at all intrusive. Plenty of acidity to make this a food friendly effort at 13% abv. An early drinking Nebbiolo that probably should be consumed over the next 5 years or so.
I don't drink much Piedmont wine or Italian wine for that matter, but this was a solid effort at a price point even a tightwad like me can enjoy.
