I like WLDG but....

by Redwinger » Tue Apr 03, 2007 8:47 am

There are a few types of threads I'd like to see more of from the community to liven the place up a bit:
When will winery X send their summer/fall/winter/spring mailer?
When will winery X ship the wines I ordered from their summer/fall/winter/ spring mailer.
How many points did wine xyz get from critic xyz?
When will critic xyz's next newsletter be mailed?
Why haven't I received my copy of xyz's latest newsletter?
How/what is the best wine/winemaker/winery in the whole wide world?
Retailer rants.
Wholesaler rants.
Swingset Rants.
That's just a few of the things I'd like to see more of around here. Feel free to add your list.
Cheers
Bill

Why doesn't everyone score the wines? How am I supposed to restrict my buying to 95+ point wines?

Tom, you should be grateful they even know where Pojoaque is and how to spell it! :D

WHAT? You only buy 95+ wines? There goes your invitation to my 94-point-and-over party!

Do you actually drink 94p wine?
Isn't that for cooking?

I still haven't got my Musar mailer.

When will winery X ship the wines I ordered from their summer/fall/winter/ spring mailer.

Musar still hasn't sold me any.

How many points did wine xyz get from critic xyz?

It got "rocks" from anti-critic me.

When will critic xyz's next newsletter be mailed?

Ché?

Why haven't I received my copy of xyz's latest newsletter?

Ché?

How/what is the best wine/winemaker/winery in the whole wide world?

Musar, obviously.

Retailer rants. Musar's price went up.
Wholesaler rants. - ditto -
Swingset Rants. - ché?

I hope that gets you by the next few years, Bill.

Just assume that any wine I review gets 100 points. Ignore the actual verbiage. I feel I owe it to my namesake that he should not be out on that particular limb alone :)

Where's my Wine Related Topics newsletter?

Has anyone else received the WRT yet?

How can I buy wine without my WRT?

Why isn't there an extra-special on line version available? I'd pay more for that, especially if I could get pronouncements from the Wine God Lou Kessler that no one else could get...well, no one else but those people that pay extra for it, anyway.

Then I could get to the store before anyone else does and scoop up all those spoofulated wines that Wine God Lou Kessler anoints.

And there's no such thing as a Kessler Cuvee, I don't care what anyone says.

Mr. Redwinger? That's my father's name. Does the $88 include postage and styro shipper?

You sound more like a Leftwinger. There is no free lunch. Ask Hoke about borrowing the needed funds.

My problem with WLDG (apart from the recent log in situation)is the relatively few people who actually use it.
Of course the problem with Ebob is that far too many use that, and the moderator can be ----------well you know
Would love WLDG to have the same number of users and in a similar style as Wine-Pages.

Joe,
I believe WRT refers to these as B.U.T.T.™ wines.

Splendid plan! Make sure producers love you. None of this begging for years like underfed pound pups they had to with Rovani.
