WTN 2001 Villabella Bardolino Superiore (Corvina)

A very weird wine. Not sure what to think of it. It's been stored cold for a year or two.

Dark purple hue. Quite nice nose-leather, raspberry, tobacco. Based on the nose alone, I would like this wine.

However, the palette is less appealing. There is a very pronounced green pepper/vegetal character that overwhelms the raspberry, cherry, and tobacco notes. It's like bad Cab Franc or under-ripe Cabernet Sauvignon has been thrown into a dark Russian River Pinot Noir.

Very, very strange. Not sure how to even score this one. To be honest, I'm about to "give up" on Corvina-based wines. I'm just not sure they appeal to me.
