WTN: Three French Hens

Some friends got together, and everybody brought a viognier.

2005 Freemark Abbey Viognier, Napa Deep gold color. Perfumed viognier nose with canned apricots. Flavor on the heavy side with peach accents and very soft acid, and there was too much residual sugar on the finish. Didn't like.

2005 Mt. Baker Reserve Viognier, Washington Yellow color. Complex viognier flavors with bright acidity. Good body. A knockout after the Freemark Abbey.

2005 Bridlewood Reserve Viognier, Central Coast (California) Bright light yellow. Distinctive nose of honeysuckle and apple. Spicier in the taste than the nose with good acidity. Also very good, but not as refined as the Mt. Baker.

They brought each other bottles of Viognier? I thought you said they were friends!

BUSTED! Have to admit, I struggle to enjoy this grape.
