Safe to drink maderized wine?

by NickLee » Wed May 02, 2007 12:46 pm

Hi,

I have a few bottles of wine which seems to have been maderized due to improper storage and exposure to sun. The cork had somehow dried up too. It taste ok, but I was just wondering it is safe or healthy to drink it.

Thanks

Nick, if you still enjoy it (and want to consider it as a sort of variant on Sherry), it's perfectly safe to drink. Wine may become less palatable with age or environmental damage, but it doesn't become toxic or unhealthful. Bottoms up!
