Just got off the phone with Dick Reno, owner of Chateau Lafayette Reneau on Seneca Lake. His 2006 Riesling just took a double gold as well as
Best International White Wine at Riverside. Finger Lakes score another!

Great news, Ed. I hope this keeps up - it just shows what superb quality is behind Eastern wines made from the fine soil of the region by caring and talented winemakers.

I'm going to be joining some other wine lovers in the Finger Lakes region the second week in June (staying at The Inn at Glenora Wine Cellars) so will look forward to trying the award-winning wine. Is it released yet or only available for tasting at the winery?

The winery has plenty on hand. Ch Lafayette Reneau is almost directly across the lake from Genora (a nice producer as well), maybe a half hour away.
