WTN: It's freakin' hot! (ESJ Rosé)

by David M. Bueker » Fri May 25, 2007 4:48 pm

I've written about the 2006 Edmunds St. John Bone-Jolly Witters Vineyard Gamay Rosé before, but it's 93 degrees here, and it tastes so good cold out of the fridge. All that crisp strawberry and citrus peel is just sliding down ever so easily. Yum!

Great job Steve. Please make this wine every year. It makes summer heat so much more tolerable.

Try it over ice while sitting in either a hot tub or swimming pool.
Nature's way of telling you that heat is good.

Nice thought Jim, but I prefer an ice storm over any temperature past 80 degrees.

OK, I have really got to try some of this ESJ stuff. I've seen so many really amazing endorsements for the various wines on this board, and I was referred to a retailer not far from me who carries some (I've never been to this particular store but I think that this weekend I will make a point of it).

K, you really need to try some of this. My other order of ESJ whites and reds hasn't arrived yet, but a friend sent me a case of this rosé. I don't as a rule enjoy rosés, but this rocks my world!

K, if you find a reliable supplier of ESJ wines in the area let me know. The only reliable source I have found is in b-f'n Bawlmore. It's a great store, but even though I live in Bowie it's out of the way. Also, any city that produces Peter Angelos and Stuart Yaniger.....

Patience, Cynthia, Steve's doing as best he can under the circumstances. Hopefully next week.
You certainly got good friends. I suspect after my folks try it, ther'll be the usual EdmundsStJohn whine..."I shoulda bought more". We'll probably go back to the well again, I suspect.

Oh no, I wasn't complaining at all. I simply meant I haven't had the opportunity to try anything else from him yet, but I sure love this one!

Opened a bottle of this last night with some friends to go with ribs. Great stuff, and everyone agreed that it went well with the food.

Another convert

I gave a bottle of this to a client last week who is a die-hard red drinker. Made him promise to put it in the fridge and keep an open mind.

When he got home this evening it was 85+ so he thought he'd give it a try while he unwound on the porch. Figured he could always open a beer if he didn't like it.

He was no more than half a glass into the bottle before he was on the phone to me... "Wow! Where did you get this wine? Can I pick it up locally? I have to get a couple cases of this!"

So, you too, are becoming one more shill for SteveEdmunds wines!! It's contagious. :-)
Your friend should be able to get it direct from Steve's WebSite, via e-mail.
