WTN: Sacred Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2006

A simple dinner at home: smoked salmon salad. I rarely like SB (not even the Loire I'm ashamed to say), but this wine worked with the food. Unfortunately the gf loved it, and told me to buy more. :( I appreciated it for what it is, but it just isn't my preferred style.

A pungent nose with bucketfuls of ripe, tropical fruit yet jalopeño and gooseberry - as if both over- and under-ripe at the same time! The palate is softer than expected despite the highish acidity (6,7g/l) and almost opluently fruity - so much so that I wonder if this has a touch of RS? It stays balanced and fresh and is quite an exciting wine if you like the style!

I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
