Had this last night w/ flank steak & fentuntta:
1. Novy Zin CarlisleVnyd/RRV (16.0%; http://www.NovyFamilyWines.com) 2002: Med.dark color; very bright Zinberry/raspberry/Zin light toasty/oak slight dusty/old vines lush/ripe nose; soft very bright raspberry/Zinberry/Zin bit peppery light pencilly/toasty/oak slight dusty flavor; very long bright Zinberry/raspberry/Zin light pencilly/oak w/ light tannins; wonderful balance w/ no overripe character and no alcoholic heat; a bright/zippy Pinot-like Zin more in the Nalle or DryCreekVnyds style than Carlisle; seemes more like DCV Zin than RRV Zin in character; ready to drink & should go another few yrs.
