I highly enjoyed this article on Gary Newton in Columbia. This comes to us from the Columbia Tribune. I really admire what this gentleman is doing.

Carol said that people usually hesitate when they are offered homemade wine. However, they change their opinion once they taste their wine. "A lot of times, they say, ‘Wow, that’s really good wine,’ " she said. " ‘It tastes like what you buy in the store.' "
I run into that a lot too. Nice article Paul. Thanks for posting. Although I'm reluctant to do kits, my daughter-in-law's uncle uses a lot of kits and he makes some decent stuff.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

Howie, I admit to having a philosophical bias against kits. I feel that winemaking is a ground-to-bottle-to-glass sort of thing, and I love the hands-on aspect of having one's own vineyard if possible (or getting grapes from a grower who can be trusted to maintain the vines properly) and then going through all the steps.

Wine is something that I don't like doing according to formula.
