I was just notified that I "won" this lot on the latest winebid.com auction for $120. After buyers premium, taxes, insurance the true total cost is USD $147.66. (No delivery charge) How did I do? I think I got a pretty good deal although I didn't steal this lot for sure. When do people think the first, second and third bottles should be opened?

That's approx 2x the German price, thus in line with the usual US pricing. For a detailed analysis we have to get David Buecker's input...

If you have good storage, leave yourself a bottle or two for 15 years down thre raod.

Peter hit it on the aging. The Brucke ages very well. The '97 is really singing now with time to spare.

Pricing was pretty much par for the course by the time you add in all the extras. Of course finding the wine these days is the hard part, so all things considered you did ok.

Thanks for the info. My wine closet has just been finished (temp and humidity controlled) so let's see if I can keep my hands off one or two of these for a while. Thanks again.
