2001 Domaine Meo Camuzet Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Clos Saint Philibert - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits (7/13/2007)
Not quite sure where this one is going. Last bottle was about 2 months ago & it went downhill after about 45 minutes. This bottle much better, with crisp lemon, minerality and spice. Fresh, crisp and very enjoyable. It's not a profound wine, but a pleasing sipper. Two left in the cellar that will be drunk up soon.

Thanks for the note. A few years back we had a big tasting of 2001 Burgundies. I liked - if you will forgive the generalisation - the style of the vintage with its savoury, acidic, elegant profile. But I did have trouble with some producers, Méo-Camuzet included. I thought they tried at the same time to make terroir wines and to make techno wines on the high level. I'm happy to see that the HCdN at least seems more honest and Burgundian from your note.

I've only tried a handful of '01s and '02s from M-C - what is the style they tend to go for? I find what little I've tasted very perplexing.

I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.

This is the only Meo-Camuzet Blanc I have ever tasted. I have no idea what they are trying to do (actually isn't this their only white??).

By the way - this has held up well over three days now. My last bottle must have had something wrong with it.
