11% alc.; closed with a synthetic cork (why don't they just switch to screwcap?). Pale light straw colour. No carbonation at all, despite it being quite a young wine. Completely nondescript nose - not at all typical for Ontario Riesling. However, this seems like another point in favour of my belief that, exceptions notwithstanding, 2006 simply was a bad vintage in Ontario. I haven't had a Riesling as bland and pointless (pun intended) as this one in years. Strange whiff of vinyl (I bet it's from the nasty plastic cork) with unripe acidity and no flavours of any kind.
I don't know if this is going through a major bottle shock period or what, but at this moment it is undoubtedly the least interesting wine I've ever had from Lakeview. I think I'll hold onto it until tomorrow and see if any nose develops in the meantime.
