2000 Sacred Hill "Rifleman's" Chardonnay

by Robert Reynolds » Wed Jul 18, 2007 9:28 pm

I picked this one up on special a couple of weeks ago. Goodnose, pale amber in color. A little grassy, tastes oaky and big, if I understand the term correctly. Nice long finish, leaving an astringent feeling on the tongue.

The store (best selection in Tulsa, as far as I have seen so far) had about 5 or 6 varietals from Sacred Hill, and I bought 3, all at $9.99.

I had never heard of the winery before, but I thought the Whitecliff Range 2002 merlot was pretty good when I cracked it last week.

So, I'm beginning to wish I had gotten a couple of mixed cases instead of 3 bottles.

Any thoughts?
