Another vote here for liver and onions.

Also, stuffed cabbage. I could not eat at the same table as the cabbage.

Number one hated food as a child was/is green peas. Liver and onions wasn't looked forward to either but found out in high school that the liver was being over cooked. I still don't really love liver but I think if it wasn't over cooked for so many years I would acutely like it. The good thing about liver and onions is that it was always cooked with the heart which I love so I would eat lots of heart.
A ship is safe in the harbor but that is not what ships were made for.
