Rewarming leftover pizza

When all ya'll are saying you don't like cold pizza... do you mean refrigerator cold, or room temp, or both? I like it room temp, but straight from the fridge... not so much.

Wow - cold pizza must be one of those genetic things. Either you have the cold pizza gene or you don't.
Personally, I like it a lot.

Hi, this is my first post as an immigrant from Daniel Rogov's forum on Strat's place. I definitely have the cold pizza gene. I also recommend "Korean Knife-Noodle Soup" (kahl goohksooh) the next day cold as well…

Good point, Cynthia. I tend to leave mine out overnight and then eat it at room temperature. I'm not sure if this is really recommended, but I like what it does to some pizza. Kinda dries it out a little and changes the texture. I'm sure it sounds like godawful swill to those without the cold pizza gene, but I really like it that way.

And I'll second that request for more info on Korean Knife-Noodle Soup. Sounds very interesting.

I not only like pizza cold the next day, but my drink of choice with pizza (hot or cold) is milk.

If I warm it up, I do it in my cast iron pan, nice and low.

Pizza cold? Never.

Heating leftover pizza in the oven or in a pan is just fine. Microwave? Never.

Microwaving leftover pizza makes it soggy. Warming up an oven takes time and uses a lot of energy for a slice or two of pizza.

I've started reheating pizza on top of my stove. I warm up a round cast-iron flat griddle (any pan would work), place a slice of pizza on it and cover it with an inverted skillet (any loosely fitted lid would work). After a couple of minutes I have pizza with a crisp crust and warm on top. Why didn't I think of this sooner?

Mike - I do this a lot too. I love room temp pizza...not right from the fridge cold.

When I heat it up, I use my toaster oven.
