And Southern. Oldtimers in the country would make apple butter out of the apple flesh, and use the peelings and cores for jelly. The same philosophy as using every part of the pig but the squeal.
It's a nice feeling! We were able to do the same with a big bag of quinces we received last week - first we made quince jelly (had to use some of the compost pectin to set it, as the quinces were really ripe), then turned the flesh into quince paste (never again - that was such hard work!).
Larry, we now use cloth napkins and
never iron them. If we had to iron them, we wouldn't use them - I'd never bother - so we decided to just wash them and throw them in the drawer. Now we get the paper napkins out only for guests..
