I made my first batch of the season this morning. These became a new holiday favorite last year when we had some at my brother-in-law's. I made three batches last year with varying amounts of rum and cocoa powder, and this gave the best results.
Anyone else make these tasty treats?
Rum Balls
1 box vanilla wafers (or about 2 ½ cups crumbs)
1 ½ cup nuts, finely ground
¾ cup powdered sugar
2 TB cocoa
3 TB light corn syrup
6-8 TB any style rum (I use Captain Morgan spiced rum)
Additional powdered sugar for rolling
Mix all ingredients together and roll into small balls. Roll in the additional powdered sugar. Store in tightly covered container for several days to develop flavor. Makes about 4 dozen.

Thanks, Linda. I always seem to have these at parties this time of year and wonder what goes into them - they are always so good! This year, for a change, I'm going to make them, thanks to you.

I've made rum balls, and at least three versions of rum cakes, all from the Bacardi giveaway booklet. Been a few years since I made the last batch, however.
