Stuart's thread reminded me of this simple and quick recipe that's handy when you have some fresh tomatoes:
Slice tomatoes in half. Place on baking sheet with cut side up. Place a dollop of butter and some Parmesan cheese on each. Salt and pepper. Place under broiler until butter and cheese get bubbly and golden.
That's all there is to it. And quite tasty.
