It's a variety of rice common in Southern India. Apparently it's shorter grained and stickier than Basmati. I've seen it for sale at the local Indian grocery store, but I've never used it, myself. I suspect it's more commonly used for such things as dosas and iddlis than Basmati.

I spied it at Talin International Market (where the guy stole $1600 worth of wine in his shorts), and that's the extent of my knowledge.
